Ivory Coast

Ivory Coast, officially known as the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, is a West African country located on the south coast of the Atlantic Ocean. It is bordered by Liberia to the southwest, Guinea to the northwest, Mali to the north and northeast, Burkina Faso to the northeast and Ghana to the east.

The road network in Ivory Coast is extensive, covering over 85,000 kilometers of roads. About 8,400 kilometers of these roads are paved, while the rest are unpaved. The country has several expressways connecting major cities and towns, including the Abidjan-Toumodi Expressway, which is a major transport corridor in the country.

In addition to the paved roads, there are also numerous gravel roads and 4×4 tracks, particularly in rural areas. These roads are mainly used by local communities and are often in poor condition.

For outdoor enthusiasts, Ivory Coast offers a range of opportunities for walking, cycling, and hiking. The country’s varied landscapes, which include lush forests, rolling hills, and scenic coastlines, make it an ideal destination for nature lovers.

One useful resource for outdoor enthusiasts is the topographical maps available from GarminWorldmaps. These maps provide detailed information on the terrain, elevation, and trails in the area, making it easier for hikers and cyclists to plan their routes and navigate the countryside.

Ivory Coast is a fascinating country with much to offer both visitors and locals. Its extensive road network and beautiful natural landscapes make it an excellent destination for outdoor enthusiasts looking to explore West Africa’s beauty.
