Road network

Bahrain is known for its strong economy, thanks to its oil and gas reserves, as well as its strategic location for trading. The country has a well-developed road network, with a total length of around 4,000 km. The vast majority of the roads in Bahrain are paved, including the main highways and expressways that connect the major cities and towns.

Bahrain has invested heavily in infrastructure and transportation, including the expansion of the highway network to improve accessibility and reduce traffic congestion. The King Fahd Causeway, a 25 km long bridge connecting Bahrain to Saudi Arabia, is a major transportation route in the region. It is one of the longest bridges in the world, and it serves as a vital link between the two countries, facilitating the movement of people and goods.

In addition to paved roads, Bahrain also has some gravel tracks and 4×4 trails, particularly in the desert areas. Off-roading is a popular activity in Bahrain, with many enthusiasts taking their vehicles out into the desert to explore the sand dunes and enjoy the natural beauty of the region.

Overall, Bahrain’s road network is well-maintained and efficient, with easy access to major cities and tourist attractions. The country’s investment in infrastructure and transportation has made it a hub for business and commerce in the Middle East.
